Ivan's first Christmas

Here are a few random Christmas pictures from Ivan's very first Christmas. He did sleep through most of the festivities, but I still think he enjoyed it. Aunt Kelly bought him this fancy outfit that says "Santa Loves Me" I am pretty sure Aunt Kelly loves him too. She has been amazing with him. She was a bit nervous with him at first, but I think she is becoming a natural! Ivan sure does love spending time with her and we sure are glad that she is a part of his life.
Ivan also had his very first visit from Santa on Christmas Eve. He was awake for the whole visit and really seemed to enjoy Santa. Santa even brought Ivan a hand made wooden train that he absolutely loves (mom and dad think it is pretty cool too). Thanks for taking time out of your busy night to visit Ivan for his very first Christmas!

4 weeks!

I just can not believe our little man is 4 weeks already. Time seems to be flying by right now. I have enjoyed every second with him for the past 4 weeks and can not wait for the fun moments to come.

Hear no evil, See no evil

I thought it was so funny when I looked over and saw Ivan covering his ears, so I instantly grabbed the camera. As soon as I took a picture, he decided he needed to cover his eyes. Do you think he is trying to tell us something?

Uncle Marc and Aunt Kristen

Uncle Marc and Aunt Kristen have spent a lot of time with Ivan over the past several weeks and I know he has enjoyed every minute of it. I am so glad that Ivan has such a great aunt and uncle that love him so much!
I had to post the last photo as well because it is so cute. I am pretty sure he is trying to give me a kiss :)

Just because he is cute

Here are a few pictures I took of Ivan today. I just think he looks very ornery. I would love to know what he is thinking!

Big Boy Clothes!

As most of you know, I really enjoy dressing Ivan every day. I will usually pick out his outfit and pajamas the night before and have them all ready to go for the next day. Sometimes it takes me a while to get the outfit right, but it really is very exciting for me. It also helps Mike know what he is "allowed" to put him in whne I actually give him the opportunity to change his clothes :)
So, I decided to put away the newborn clothes for the day and dress Ivan in a "big boy" outfit. This outfit is 0-3 months and is still way to big, but I sure do think it is cute. I had to send this picutre to several people today to show them just how adorable he is!

Touchdown!

I know this is not a great picture, but I just had to share this photo. This is Ivan's favorite sleeping position. I think it has something to do with the fact that he watched OSU beat Michigan from the hospital.

First Thanksgiving

Ivan spent some quality time with his Aunt Kelly on Thanksgiving. He also spent lots of time wiht his Uncle Marc, Aunt Kristen, Grandma and Grandpa, but we did not seem to get too many good pictures this time. I guess this is something we will have to work on :)

First Bath

We decided it was time to give Ivan his very first bath tonight. As you can see Ivan was not too thrilled with this experience. He decided that he is not a big fan of being naked, cold and wet all at the same time. He was a much happier baby once he was warm and cozy in his hooded towel!

Home Safe and Sound

Ivan is all snuggled in, ready to enjoy his first night in his new home. At least we hope he is going to enjoy his first night home! We are so exicted to finally have him here and can not wait for all of the fun adventures to come. We love you Ivan!

Proud Daddy

Mike was so happy the day he found out he was going to have a son and I think he is even happier now that his son is finally here. Mike really was so wonderful during the labor and delivery. I think he even mentioned that "this is nothing like it is on TV" Which basically meant I did not yell at him once!
I know Mike is so anxious to be able to play with legos, play cars and of course build anything and everything with Ivan and I just can't wait to watch the two of them laugh and play together. I know Mike is going to be an amazing dad!

Here's the story of Ivan Michael, born Friday November 16, 2007.

It all began early Friday morning, when Lori jumped out of bed and said, "UH-OH!" I joined Lori in an excited state of confusion, as to what had just happened. A brief discussion, a call to the doctor (a shower for Me) and we were off to the hospital.

Lori got checked in and we headed back to the birthing room. We would soon find out that Ivan, not wanting to miss his first chance to see the Buckeyes beat Michigan, would be arriving sooner than the doctor expected. Despite his excited little heart missing some beats along the way, Ivan would soon appear. The doctors did a thorough check of our little guy, then handed him over to a very anxious new mommy. He was perfect!
