Enjoying a Nice Evening Outside

It was such a nice evening, so we decided to go outside and let Ivan play in the grass. Just a few days ago, Ivan HATED being in the grass. He would instanly cry if you sit him down, but he now seems to enjoy it and we love to see him try to pull out the grass!

Ivan's Teether

I have been so excited to use this teether since the day I put it on our baby registry! I usually just put some frozen grapes, frozen baby food that I have previously made or fresh bananas in the net and just let Ivan go to town. He loves this thing, but often gets upset when he can not figure out how to get the yummy part in his mouth. As you can see we had to give him bath after the use of this new teether. It is VERY messy!

Aunt Kelly's Graduation

Here is Ivan gearing up for Kelly's big day!
Ivan loves his Aunt Kelly!

Mike, Ivan and I headed to Springfield for Aunt Kelly's graduation. Can you believe she is about to start college in a few short months? Well, I think it was a bit of a sad and happy day for her along with Mom and Dave. It is often so scary to leave the comfortable world of Highschool and move in to the much bigger world of college, but I know Kelly is going to do just fine! I am sure she is going to do great things in the future. Luckily, she is going to Columbus State, so we should be seeing lots more of her. Ivan is looking forward to spending lots of time with his Aunt Kelly!

6 Months

I have a ton of photos to share this time. This past weekend, we headed up to Shelby for Ivan's baptism and for Ivan's 6 months pictures.

The top few pictures are of Ivan hanging out on Grandma Dahn's floor. Ivan is working on perfecting the army crawl right now. He is pretty sure that he would like to move all over the place, but is not quite sure how to get all of the appropriate body parts to work together.

The next few photos are from his 6 month photo shoot. Mike decided to be the back up photographer on the shoot! As you can see Auntie M has some other back up help as well. Isaac and Truitt were her "smilists" for the day and they sure did help make Ivan smile for the photos!

The final 3 photos are some shots we took after Ivan's baptism. We tried to get a good photo of Ivan with all of the families that came to show their love and support. However, you will notice that almost no one is actually looking at the camera. Well, Auntie M was taking photos at the same time, so of course everyone chose to look at the real photographer instead of us ;) I think we are going to have to hit up Auntie M for good some good photos!

Ivan's Favorite Toy

This is Ivan's new favorite toy. He is always trying to take the remotes, so we decided to take the batteries out of one of the remotes that we do not currently use and let him play with it. Daddy says he is just trying to be like mommy! It is true, I do love TV and you will often find me with a remote in my hand!

Mother's Day

Today was my very first official Mother's Day and it was fantastic! We heading to South Vienna to spend some time with my mom and the rest of my family. We had some good food and just hung out. Then we headed home and Mike took a few pictures of Ivan and
I "playing" outside. It was a little chilly, so we had to put a sweatshirt over is PJ's! These pictures are a little silly, but they show how much fun we have together. I feel so blessed to have this little guy in my life and I can not imagine what a day would be like without seeing his smiling face. He is such a happy little guy and he make me such a happy mom!

Sleeping

When I went in to check on Ivan this morning, this is what I found. He had his arm hanging out of the crib and was holing on to the bumper. I am not real sure why he felt the need to hold on to the bumper so tightly, but it sure was cute.

Aunt Kelly's Prom

Ivan and I went to see Kelly off to her final highschool prom! We decided to go with her to get her hair done so that grandma could stay home and rest from her recent surgery. It was pouring the whole time that she was getting her hair done, so I am surprised that her hair looked so good-thank goodness for lots of hairspray! While Kelly was getting ready, Ivan had lots of fun playing with his new friend Jilly Ann. I chose to post this photo because this is the only one where grandpa has his eyes somewhat open and I think I took a million photos!

Doesn't Aunt Kelly look fabulous?!?!?!

New Stroller

So, it was a lot of work to get this cool new stroller! We decided that we needed a jogging stoller to use when we take Ivan for walks around the neighborhood. The sidewalks are very uneven and we were afaid that they were going to ruin his every day stroller, which we hope to use with the next baby as well. So, we decided to go to Babies R Us and look at the jogging stollers there. We picked out a stroller that was not too expensive and then realized that it was not in stock. This seems to happen with every big item that we try to purchase there! We asked when it would be in stock and the of course informed us that they were not sure when they would be getting it in, but that they did know it would be a while. Not really knowing how to take that answer, I decided to look online. I did find the same stroller at a lower price and free shipping, so of course I ordered it. The stoller arrived 2 days later and much to my surprise, it was not the obnoxious yellow color that it has showed online. Instead it was this wonderful blue. I would say we came out ahead on this one! Mike loves this stroller because it has an MP3 player hook up, so he thinks we need to listen to music everytime we go for a walk. I guess I am not that fun to talk to ;)
