So, to celebrate Daddy's Birthday, we took lots of photos of Ivan and Mallory :) Adults just are not as entertaining! We tried so hard to get a good photo of the cousins, but they did not cooperate-one would sit while the other would run away. I guess we will continue trying!

Mommy and Ivan Day

On Friday, I was lucky enough to stay home and spend some much needed quality time with Ivan. I am finding that this quality time is very important right now as we prepare to welcome the new little man. I have found myself to be very excited about the new baby's arrival, but also very sad that my alone time with Ivan is coming to an end. I have enjoyed every second of the last 2 1/2 years and find myself more and more amazed at how much Ivan has changed our lives. He has grown into this funny, loving yet crazy little boy. It seems like just yesterday he was baby and now he is on his way to being all grown up.

Ivan has shown a very loving side lately that I just cannot get enough of. He will just lay his head on my stomach to snuggle and tell me that he loves me. He will also talk to the baby from time to time and always seems happy when we talk about the baby. Just a few days ago he felt the baby move while laying on my stomach and his eyes got huge as he looked at me in disbelief. After I told him what it was, he was determined to move the baby himself-not such a good idea :) I know this could all change once he does not receive as much attention, but for now I am very happy that he is excited to welcome his baby brother.

Ivan also seems to get funnier and smarter by the day. We are truly amazed at the new phrases he learns every day. We often just look at each other and say "How did he learn that?" My new favorite is when he tells me I am his best friend or that I am super man. I have no idea where it came from, but I love it. I also enjoy his use of multiple names. So far, he has been Jackie Bob, Ivan Lomax and Jesus. He is often a big fan of "Not today" or "Not right now" when he does not want to do something. However, if he is enjoying something, he will hold up his finger and say "just one more time" I just love all of the expression he puts into it! He has also learned when he is in trouble I call him Ivan Michael, so the other day he told me "Mommy Michael, NO" when he felt that I was being bad.

I know our life is about to get crazy, but I cannot wait for this next chapter to begin. Ivan has shown us how amazing it feels to be parents and I am sure the new little man will just enhance that feeling.

Almost Time!

Here are a few photos of 37 and 38 weeks-we are now counting down the days. I am hoping this little guy waits longer than Ivan did for his grand entrance as I would like to have more time off during the summer months to enjoy with the boys. We did finally replace Mike's car with a larger 3 row cross over that will allow us to have more cargo space when we make longer trips with the boys. We had a hard time deciding between a van and the Mazda, but when we had a hard time finding the van we wanted, we decided the Mazda would work for now. We will be replacing my car with a van when we have baby #3! I have to say I was not excited about the possibility of driving a van every day, but we know it is what is best for our growing family when we have a third baby.

Easter

As we continue to prepare for the newest little guy's arrival, we realize how many things we are behind on. We currently have a to do list that is about a mile long and we just keep adding to it. I really don't think Mike is a fan of this last minute stressing I do when I think everything needs done RIGHT NOW! We have found that it is much more difficult to get things done with a 2 year old running around. We were much more prepared last time!

As I sit here and listen to Ivan scream because he does not want to be in his big boy bed anymore, I think it is the perfect time to attempt to get caught up on the blog (yeah right!). The big boy bed started off with a bang last week, but Ivan is now having a very hard time going to bed, which means we are as well!

So, here are a few of our photos from Easter. I particularly love the photos of Ivan and Elle. I don't think Elle is having the best time here, but Ivan was determined to kiss that girl! We did lose half of our Easter photos along with some great photos that I took at the park of Ivan, Mallory and Jake, so this is all we have of Easter!

Cleaning

Ivan has really been into cleaning lately. He usually asks for wipes and cleans all of his cars and any other item he can get his hands on. It is nice for us because it tends to keep him busy for a while, which is hard to do :) While we were cleaning the kitchen a few weeks ago, he requested a rag to help. We gave into his request and he went to town cleaning all of the chairs and every piece to his tool bench. It did take some convincing that the glass door and TV did not need cleaned though!
