More Kitchen fun

While Mike and I were cleaning up after dinner, this is what Ivan decided he would do. He decided he would some how climb under the bar stool that his booster seat sits on. I am pretty sure he just wanted to play with the strap that hangs down from his seat, but he managed to get himself stuck inside the legs of the bar stool! He was not at all upset about being in this tight spot, but just managed to make the best of it. Mike and I both took numerous photos of Ivan before freeing him form his "cage." As you can see, he was not at all upset about us leaving him in there! I think he actually enjoyed it!

Oops, he did it again!

I know the title of this post sounds like a Britney Spears song, but that really was not my intention. I am a little embarassed about that, but oh well. So, Ivan managed to get stuck in his toy basket again and I have to say it was just as funny the second time around. Uncle Marc and Aunt Kristen were at our house dropping off a very cool book that they had bought for Ivan when all of the sudden Ivan dove right into his toy basket again. We of course had to grab the camera before we could get him out!

Cute!

This is how you will pretty much always find Ivan sitting in his booster seat. For some reason he always pushes his toes against the inside of his tray and will just sit there and eat his whole meal with his feet just like this! I think it is adorable!

I know it looks like Ivan has a cut on his foot, but I just want to assure everyone that it was not a cut. I noticed this mark after I took the photos and as I inspected it, I was able to rub it right off. I have no idea what it was, but was very happy that it was not a cut!

Bad Mom!!!!

Ivan has had a bit of an infatuation with the oven for a while now, so we have constantly been pulling him away from the oven and telling him no. If I am using the oven, he is almost always in his high chair, so he is not around the oven when it is actually on. Well, the other day I was in the kitchen doing dishes and Ivan followed me in like he usually does and he pulled himself up on the oven. Well, he looked so cute as he leaned back and looked up at me, so I of course had to grab the camera. I know I should have pulled him away and told him no, but I am so weak when he looks so darn cute!

Playing Ball with Daddy

We discoverd that Ivan really likes to play with balls while we were at my mom's recently. She had bought Ivan some plastic balls because he always wanted to play with their dog's toys. So, after seeing how much fun he had at mom's, I bought him some tennis balls for our house. I thought it was amazing at how well he was able to bounce the ball and catch the ball. He will stand at the table and bounce it back and forth and will even go get it when it goes off of the table. The funniest part is that he often laughs the whole time!
We also managed to get a photo of Ivan waving. He is a bit of a mess in this photo, but I think it is the first time we have managed to get a photo of him waving. He seems to be waving and saying hi or bye bye constantly, but never when we have the camera out :)

Where's Daddy?

Ivan really enjoys looking out the door and watching the cars go by, but today I could not get him away from the door. Mike was outside power washing the front porch and Ivan just could not stop watching him. I just love the photo of him on his tippy toes!

Ivan's New Toy

Ivan has been walking around the Living Room pushing his basket and ottoman for some time now, so I decided it was time to get him a real walking toy. So, while Aunt Kristen and I were at Target starting her baby registry, I kept finding numerous things that I thought Ivan needed. It is amazing at all of the things they "need" I had a gift card that I received from Mike's dad and step-mom for my birthday, so I figured-who better to spend it on than Ivan? I had already spent the birthday money my mom gave me on clothes for Ivan, so why not buy him some toys too? So, I bought him numerous small things and this new walking toy. He absolutely loves it and just gets this big grin on his face when he uses it. You can tell he is so proud of himself.

Pancreas Cancer Walk

Over the weekend, we headed to Clifton Mill to do a walk for Pancreas Cancer. We were supposed to be doing this walk with Maggie, but she was too busy doing other stuff to walk with us :) So, we walked by ourselves, but we still had a great time. Maggie's mom took these photos as we started the walk. As you can see, Ivan did not have a care in the world. He just likes to put his feet up and enjoy the ride!

Wind Storm

On Sunday afternoon, Mike and I made a trip to the grocery store. As we were checking out, the lights started to flicker, we thought it was odd but really didn't think much of it. On our way home we noticed the wind was getting pretty strong, but again did not think too much of it. Then as we were driving down High Street, we noticed that the road was closed and we finally determined it was closed because there were power lines laying on the road. When we got home, the wind was getting really bad and we had to run into the house afraid that a limb would hit Ivan. As we began to unload the groceries, the power went out-perfect timing, right?

So, we spent the rest of the evening watching the trees, limbs and power lines fall down around us. As you can see in the photo a tree fell down at the end of our block. It was blocking the whole street until some guy decided to just go ahead and drive through it. Mike had to go out and help him remove huge limbs from under his car and from on top of his car. The idiot was on the phone the whole time and could not see out of his car! Really not bright considering the tree also knocked down power lines which were tangled in the branches of the tree. Many cota buses were being detoured down our street due to high street being closed, so it was interesting watching them try to get around the tree. We also had numerous trees fall down in the ravine across the street. We actually had the news crew outside our house 2 days in a row due to the down tree with power lines and then due to the down power lines in front of our house that was caused by a semi the night after the wind storm. Some how a semi hit the power lines and knocked them down in the middle of the night. It was loud enough to wake us up in the middle of the night! The power line were down for over a week, which caused our road to be closed. It was kind of nice to not have traffice going past our house, however the lack of street lights was not so nice. We were without power for a few days-so we wasted lots of time and money at the grocery! The above photos are of the down trees and of Ivan watching the crazy wind from our porch.

Nine Month Photos

Yes, Ivan is almost 10 months old now, but I am just getting around to posting a few of our favorite photos taken yet again by Auntie M. We LOVE these photos! I had a very hard time picking which photos to post. I could have posted so many more, but decided I probably shouldn't post all of Melissa photos on our blog. Thank you so much Melissa, we are so appreciative of all of your hard work and feel so blessed to be able to have such amazing photos of Ivan!

Bath Time Fun

We were trying to get a few photos of Ivan playing in the water at bath time tonight, but he was not being real cooperative. He decided that it would be much more fun to stand up in the tub and I was having a very hard time getting him to sit. We did get a few photos of him almost doing what we were hoping for ;) If we dump the container that we use to rinse Ivan's hair in front of him, he will usually try to grab the water. It is so cute, because he really thinks he is going to be able to just reach out and grab the water every time we do it. He usually gets very excited and sort of bounces on his bottom and laughs. The first two photos kind of show him doing this, but the second two show him a bit more accurately-laughing at us when we are trying to get him to do what WE want and then him standing with a very ornery look on his face. How can you get upset with a kid as cute as him?

An Afternoon with the Lenczowski's

Mike and I had to be out of the house today from 1-3 so that Heather/Yvonne could hold an Open House at our home, so we were very excited when Jeff and Stacy asked us over for lunch! We had not seen Jeff and Stacy for a few months, so it was nice to be able to catch up. Ivan had such a great time finding new things to play with in a new home. He really seemed to enjoy the bathroom. I am not sure how it happened, but I guess he enjoys sitting in the bathroom sink? You never know what Mike and Jeff will do when they are together and I guess this time, they decided to put Ivan in the sink! Ivan also enjoyed the door stoppers in the bathroom, Jeff's watch and just playing with Jeff in general. I think Jeff and Stacy are going to need to come over and babysit Ivan!

Labor Day

We headed to my mom's house for a fun filled day of food and swimming for Labor Day this year. Ivan had so much fun in the pool! Mike took Ivan swimming while I visted with family and after they were done, Kristen, Kelly and I had a turn in the pool. When the girls and I went inside to get changed, we noticed the boys fast asleep on the couch-I guess the pool really tired them out!

Stuck!

Ivan seems to be doing something new every day lately. It is really hard to believe just how fast he is growing and how much he is learning. He has been waving and saying "hi" and sometimes "bye bye" for a few weeks now, which is absolutely the cutest thing I have ever seen. It is the best think in the world when I walk in the room and Ivan instantly says "hi" and waves. It just makes me melt!

Another one of his new tricks is pushing his toy basket around the living room. He gets the biggest smile on his face and just looks so proud of himself when he is walking around the room with his basket. As you can see above, Ivan also likes to take all of his toys out of his basket. He often takes them out one by one and throws them over his shoulder, as though he is looking for the perfect toy to play with. Well, he managed to get most of the toys out of the basket, but he also managed to get himself stuck in the basket! Mike caught this funny moment on camera when he looked over and saw Ivan's feet hanging just above the floor and the upper half of his body in the basket. Ivan did not seem to get upset or bothered by being stuck, but was not able to get himself out, Daddy had to assist him-after he took a few photos ;)
