For Ivan's very first Independence Day, we went with Uncle Marc, Aunt Kristen and Kristen's sister Erin to Worthington for their family picnic and fireworks. We had lots of fun just sitting around talking before the fireworks started. Ivan had lots of fun playing with Uncle Marc's hat and shreading napkins. Ivan did fall asleep before the fireworks started, but I woke him up so that he could enjoy his very first 4th of July. He was not afraid of the fireworks at all, but was not impressed by them either. I think he found Uncle Marc's hat and the napkins to be so much more entertaining than the fireworks.

Next time... let's not get there 5 hours early. However, we still had a great time playing with Ivan and walking around the school.
