More Summer Time Fun

Ivan absolutely loves to go outside, he will stand at the back door and say "outside" until you give into his request. If you do not give in, chances are he will throw a fit. He usually wants to go outside and go down his slide, however his favorite thing to do is play in his pool. He loves to get in and out of his pool over and over and also loves to drag the sprinkler over the pool. His new favorite pool toy is a plastic cup, he loves to fill it up and dump it our and apparenlty, he also loves to drink out of this cup. We do not encourage this, however it is pretty cute.

We have made a couple trips to my parent's house this summer to swim in the "big pool" Ivan loves to be in the water, but he also just loves to run up and down their yard. He has to stop and look at all of the flowers (which are often just bushes) and anything else that may catch his eye.
I thought it was pretty cute that he had to drag his towel along with him every where that he went! Mallory also had her very first swim with Aunt Kelly and she loved it as well!

These are just a few cute photos of Ivan playing at my parent's house. Ivan absolutely loves his "Paw Paw" When we arrive at their house, he instantly asks for him and if he does not find him right away, he will go looking for him! He also finds him first in our family photo and will randomly ask for him when we are at home. He seems to have a little obsession with "Paw Paw" and Mallory!

A Day at the Zoo

Mike and I decided to take a day off work recently and were very happy when we had nice weather so we could spend the day at the zoo. Ivan is much more interested in the animals than we was last year. It was so much fun to watch him actually pay attention to the animals-we were extra happy when we saw that he liked the monkeys! Ivan really does not have a choice to not like monkeys-his bathroom has a monkey theme and I buy him every stuffed monkey I can get my hands on. As you can see, Ivan just kicked back and enjoyed the day!

Ivan's 18 Month Photos

On Sunday, we headed to Cincinnati to meet Mel for Ivan's 18 month photos. Ivan seemed to have a blast playing with rocks and running around in big open spaces. Now if we could just get Ivan to actually look at the camera and hold still for a split second! Considering Ivan made a run for it at every chance he got, I think Mel captured some great photos of our little man, check them out.....

Ivan loves Mallory!

Last weekend, Mike headed out of town for a boy's weekend, so I decided to have a little girls night (including my favorite little boy) Kristen, Mallory and my sister Kelly all came over and we just talked, ate and played all evening. It was a very nice, relaxing evening! I think my new favorite thing is watching Ivan with Mallory. I was a little nervous a few months ago when Ivan either did not seem to notice Mallory or he was trying to hit her. Ivan has since decided that he LOVES Mallory! Ivan is constantly walking up to her and hugging her, it is so adorable! Ivan just can not seem to get enough of her, he just keeps going back for more hugs and Mallory is a trooper-she just lets him do it and never fusses! Ivan amazes me at how he seems to want to take care of Mallory-as he went through her entire diaper bag, he would take her blankie and say "baby" and take it to her. He did also enjoy trying on numerous items in her bag, including a pink hat and a hair bow. Sometimes I think he should have been a girl-he is always playing with the pretty pink shoes at the sitter's house!
We are also now the proud owners of grass!!! While Mike was away, they came and put in our new sod. Ivan was so interested in what they were doing. He stood at back door and window watching them. It was so funny, because he kept saying "hi" and I would hear "hola" numerous times in reponse. He also felt the need to show them his belly as he was standing at the back door. Ivan's new think is pulling up his shrit and rubbing his belly-he will also tell you that he is rubbing his belly while he does it-it is pretty cute.

Easter-just a little late!

I am home with a sick little boy today, so I thought it was about time I posted Easter pics. Better late than never, right? Ivan had so much fun on Easter this year. One of his favorite things to play with is plastic eggs, so I think he was in Heaven with a basket full of them! I have to admit that I got a little sad looking through these photos and seeing Ivan's long hair. A few weeks ago, we got his long curls cut off. We absolutely loved the curls, but decided it was time for a big boy hair cut. It is just so hard to cut off curls! I am very happy that he does still have some curl left though!

Happy Birthday Mike!

Well, just like normal, I am behind on my blog entries. Mike's birthday was on Tuesday this week, so we headed out to Rooster's with a group of friend's to celebrate on Saturday. We had a wonderful time, but I did not get out the camera until the end of the night. We had such a good time that Mike and Jeff were plotting at the end of the night about how they could convience Stacy and I to let them stay and have a few more drinks. I had to inform them that I had a child to get home to and Stacy was very tired and pregnant, so they finally agreed to go home. Mike and I were both shocked when we got home that Ivan was still wide awake. He really did not want to go to sleep-he was way too busy playing with Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Kelly.
